Batič Angel Merlot 2020

Merlot is grown on eight sites, on 15 hectares. Each plot is vinified individually, larger plots are vinified in several parts depending on exposure. Over the summer, 60% of the grapes were removed from the vines with green harvesting. Only 2 tons of Merlot per hectare remained in the vineyards. Merlot vineyards were harvested by hand between September 18 and 25 in the afternoon. The de-stemmed grapes were in contact with the berry skins until fermentation was complete. This was followed by maturation partly in new and partly in used 225 liter selected oak barrels. The Angel line is signed by merlots from those regions that achieve that little bit more in a blind tasting. After 26 months of maturation, the Angel Merlot was bottled without filtration and without clarification at the appropriate moon.
